Building and pest inspections
One booking for both reports: the building inspection by a registered builder, the timber pest inspection by a licensed pest technician.
Termites are active across much of Perth, and termite damage is often hidden behind skirting boards, inside wall frames and in roof timbers. A building and pest inspection checks both the structure and for timber pests before you buy.
Who does what
In Western Australia, pest management work is licensed by the Department of Health. We do the building inspection ourselves and our licensed timber pest partner does the pest inspection, so each report is written by the right qualified person. You book once and get both reports together.
What the timber pest inspection covers
- Signs of subterranean termites, including mud leads and damaged timber.
- Borers and wood decay fungi.
- Conditions that attract termites: leaking pipes, garden beds against walls, timber touching soil.
- Evidence of any termite management system and its notice.
Questions
Is a termite inspection needed for a brick home?
Yes. Double-brick homes still have timber roof frames, doors, cabinetry and skirting that termites can reach.
How often should I get a termite inspection after I buy?
Australian Standards recommend at least one timber pest inspection a year, more often in high-risk areas.
