A builder on your side
Perth Builder Inspections is run by Tom Finneran, a registered WA builder who still runs building sites in Perth.
Tom started his carpentry apprenticeship in Ireland in 2009 and ran his own building company there before moving to Western Australia in 2019. Since then he has worked as a carpenter and formworker, including on a major Pilbara mine site, and as a site manager for a Perth builder, before setting up his own residential building company in 2024.
He holds WA building practitioner registration BP106012, a Diploma of Building and Construction and a Diploma of Project Management, and is a member of Master Builders Association WA.
Why an active builder
Building inspectors do not have to be licensed in Western Australia. Tom inspects homes the way he runs his own sites: checking the work against the plans, the engineering and the standards, and knowing which shortcuts cause problems years later.
How we stay independent
- We do not take referral fees from builders or selling agents.
- We never quote to repair defects found in our own inspection reports.
- Our report is written for you, the person paying for it.
